Irwin Berkley is a Chicagoland native and seasoned expert in property acquisition and development. Berkley received his bachelor’s degree in 1955 and juris doctorate from the Northwestern University School of Law in 1959. Since then, Irwin started Century Development Group, a firm dedicated to the purchase and development of everything from single and multi-family homes to shopping centers centers all over the world.
Irwin Berkley in 1978 formed Health Connections, a Medicare facility and private pay company. In 1997 Health Connections was the largest unaffiliated free standing home health agency in the State of Illinois and was purchased by Resurrection Health Care, rated as one of the largest and best hospitals in America.
Irwin is also an active member of the Chicago area Jewish community. He served as president of congregation Shaare Tikvah and regularly advises the American-Israel Chamber of Commerce Chicago Chapter. Irwin also chaired the Jewish United Fund in the late 1980s and was homered by the prime minster of Israel in 1989.
